General Rules 1. All the students must attend the college in proper dress. For sikh boys, turban is a must. Patkas and loose dresses are not allowed in the college during working hours. Students must wear the prescribed uniform during workshop classes,' campus interviews and visits to industrial enterprises. 2. Every student is required to be disciplined and to have decorous behavior both inside and outside the campus. Students should not indulge in any activity which may tend to bring down the prestige of the institution. 3. Any act of indiscipline of students reported to the Principal will be referred to a Discipline and Welfare Committee constituted by the Principal from time to time for taking appropriate action. 4. Students should not scribble or in any way deface the walls, floors, desks, drawing boards, toilet blocks etc. They must take extreme care to see that cleanliness is maintained in the entire campus. 5. Students are strictly forbidden from use of any sort of drugs, drinking and smoking in the college campus. 6. Carrying of weapons of any type-blunt, sharp edged or firearms, in the college campus or keeping such weapons in hostels is a very serious offence and is strictly prohibited. 7. Students are not allowed to organize / attend any meetings, seminars and gatherings in the college campus without getting the prior written permission of the Principal. 8. Ragging is strictly banned in the college premises. Any student indulging in ragging will face a very severe disciplinary action. 9. Students must maintain discipline in Workshop, library, laboratories, sports field etc and observe the rules prescribed from time to time. 10. Any student causing damage to any laboratory equipment, books, furniture, building or any other college property will be imposed severe penalty. 11. Students are required to keep their mobile phones switched off while attending classes and in silent mode when outside the class but in the college campus. 12. Any act of indiscipline or non-compliance with Rules and Regulations will entail penalty/ suspension from classes or even dismissal from the institution as recommended by the discipline and welfare committee. 13. Any student who is persistently insubordinate, repeatedly or willfully mischievous, or has committed an act of serious indiscipline or misbehavior or who in the opinion of the institution has an adverse influence on the fellow students may be expelled permanently or removed from the rolls for a specified period by the Principal. 14. Students must be regular and punctual for classes. In case of absence on medical grounds, a student must submit the medical certificate when he/she joins the class after absence. 15. It is important to note that Principal can condone shortage of attendance only upto 10% of the classes held, in case the shortage is due to illness or participation in curricular and extra curricular activities. 16. The name of a student who remains absent without intimation for 10 days continuously, will be struck off from the college rolls 17. Students have to appear for all tests conducted for continuous assessment as per the schedule announced. If anybody, for compelling and very valid reason such as illness, can not attend a particular test he or she should produce a medical certificate alongwith a letter from parent / guardian for consideration for giving a retest at the discretion of the Dean Academic Affairs. Students who miss the test due to some college duty, will get in writing from the teacher incharge of the activity. 18. It will be the responsibility of each student to keep his/her parents or guardians informed about his/her progress in the college, any non-payment of fees, removal of his/ her name from the college rolls or any disciplinary action taken against him/her. 19. It will be the responsibility of the student to keep the college informed about any change in the address and telephone number of his/her parents or guardians. 20. While undergoing practical training, the students will conform to the rules of the organization in which they are taking training and will be subjected to the orders and disciplinary control of the organization. |
