Library

The college library is well equipped with over 16000 books in Science and Technology and subscribes to Journals of International & National repute. The library follows an open access system, so that the students can browse through the books freely. Photostat facility is also available within the library itself. The library also has a stock of various multimedia, CD-ROMs, which are issued to the students for learning purposes. The library incorporates computerized system, the software for which has been developed in house by the students. In addition, the library has a spacious and well-ventilatd and air-conditioned reading room for reference purposes.

Moreover, on-line access to over 1700 technical journals on diverse subjects like Bio-Medical Engineering, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence Computer Software Multimedia and the likes is available.

The library remains open throughout the year (except, Sunday and other holidays) from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm.

Rules and Regulations

(i) A student can get issued and retain two books at a time. However, the corresponding number for a teaching faculty member is ten.

(ii) A student can retain a book for a maximum period of 15 days, However, if require,d the librarian can recall a book issued to the members. The teaching faculty is allowed to keep the books for a maximum period of one semester.

(iii) Members should return the library books before the due date, failing which, an overdue charge of rupee one per book per day will be charged.

(iv) Dictionaries, current issues of periodicals/magazines and reference books are available only for consultation and are not ordinarily issued.

(v) Members shall have to replace a book if they lose it or have to pay triple the cost of the book. If the lost book belongs to a set and is not available separately, the member shall have to replace the whole set or pay double the price of the set.

(vi) Assistance may be sought from the library staff in locating a book.

(vii) Members are free to recommend new books and journals for the library and to suggest improvements in library services.

(viii) Taking books out of the library without authorization, marking or underlining, or in any way mutilating books, or library property is a misdemeanor, which may lead to withdrawal of library facilities, or in serious cases, heavy fine and disciplinary action.

(ix) All members are advised to check the books for any defect before getting them issued. The last borrower shall be responsible for any damage to the book/periodical etc. unless it has been pointed out at the time of issuing the book/periodical.
